Gutters
There are a number of services that we can provide to you, but here are the basics. For more information, please give us a call (914-837-0411) or fill out our contact form.
When we do a gutter cleaning we don’t just pull the debris out of the gutters and throw it on the ground for you to clean up. We treat your home like we would want our home treated. What this means is that we are not only going to remove the debris from the gutter but we are also going to bag it and remove it from the property or dispose of it in the nearby woods. Cleaning gutters can be a dirty job, so If we should happen to make a mess and track mud on the house, we carry a one hundred foot hose in each truck to wash down the house and the gutter if necessary. We also remove all debris build up in the valleys on the roof and behind skylights. The number one cause of leaking skylights is debris build up behind the skylight that has not been properly cleaned. It decomposes into dirt and rotes out the flashing around the skylight. We also go over the entire roof with a blower to remove debris, twigs, or branches that may be lying around. In addition, we will also hammer in any loose nails and check to make sure everything is secure and in place. All gutter cleanings come with a 30 day guarantee against overflows and clog leaders.
Did you know that your gutters are held up with a smooth shafted nail? When we do a ‘screw anchor replacement’ we pull out all those nails in the gutter, re-pitch it if necessary so the water flows in the correct direction, and then replace the nails with seven inch screw anchors. We give a lifetime warranty that the gutter will never pull off the house again. When a gutter fills up with water, it gets very heavy, combine that with a smooth shafted nail (that has no real bite or hold into the wood) and your gutters can easily become detached. When you call Honey Do Men, we don’t just hammer the nails back in. We will replace the nails with screw anchors. A new gutter is can cost as much as $350! So do your wallet a favor and save your existing gutters by calling Honey Do Men to replace those unreliable nails with a cost effective screw anchor replacement today.
First, we scrape out the old sealant that’s in the gutter. Then we clean the surface area of all debris & mud. Next we scuff the surface of the gutter with sandpaper so the new sealant has something to grab onto. Lastly, we apply a coat of liquid rubber to the entire corner of the problem area. We don’t just use a generic caulking and lay a bead on the seam, we actually take a paintbrush and coat the entire corner 6” past both seams, and we also give you a 5 year leak proof warranty.
We use .032 gauge aluminum, which is the heaviest and thickest gauge aluminum sold on the market today. We use a 15 foot box truck with a crew of 3 to 4 employees to custom build your new gutters for your home. We DO NOT bring you gutters in pieces and then glued them together when we get there. All work is done on site at your home. Our custom built gutters are seamless with a high glow white finish or a royal brown finish. We also have a large variety of custom colors to choose from as well as seamless copper gutters.
We use a solid metal, hidden hanger that is screwed, not nailed, into your house. These hangers are spaced two feet or less from one another for superior strength and support.
The downspouts are also put up with hidden clips, which are also screwed into the house. No ugly visible straps are used. If you home has underground lines, then we have adaptor for those lines, which we install at no additional cost to you. We also offer and install upgraded 3” x 4” oversized downspouts, which are nine times less likely to clog as well as handle almost two times the water volume as compared to the standard 2” x 3” downspout).
The corners are installed using a triple gasket seal system. We are one of the only companies to use this system, which is why our corners have a lifetime warranty never to leak or come apart. The first two strips are sandwiched between the overlapping aluminum and then screwed tightly together. A final coat is applied to the inside of the corners once the installation is complete. This liquid rubber is applied with a paint brush technique in which we coat it from top to bottom, covering the entire corner and extending 3” pasted the seams.
All of our gutters have and worry free 30 year warranty covering material and labor. You no longer have to worry about the finish on the gutter pealing as well as leaking corners, end caps, seams, bad pitching, sagging, or the gutters pulling off the house.
